One of the Port Stones installed in Glasgow to celebrate this year's 850th anniversary of when it first achieved city status. The stones mark the approximate locations of four gates through which the Medieval city could be entered, one for each of the north, south, east and west gate. This one, marking the east gate, is on the Gallowgate beside Barrowland Park.

I was pleasantly surprised to spot my Glasgow Uncovered book in the Glasgow 850 window display of the Waterstones on Argyle Street yesterday. Incidently, this building is featured on the Anderston and Argyle Street walk from this book, as is Central Station, which you can just see reflected in the window on the left.
