On March 17, Popular Information published an internal Social Security Administration (SSA) memo exposing a scheme to end phone service for new claims, which would have forced up to 85,000 elderly and disabled people each week to travel to field offices to verify their identities.
Call your reps and senators. Leave voicemails. Be furious. Tell them what you really think of them. Let your disgust shine.
Republicans especially are cowards. Pressure is something they can't handle - when the going gets tough, they seek the easiest route out.
The people can win this fight. We just have to be angrier than the MAGAts. We have the moral high ground over these fascist bastards, and we should act like it. BE ANGRY.

Machaela Cavanaugh, the Nebraska state senator who acknowledged the trans genocide, is pausing her filibuster against anti-transgender legislation. She likely has the votes to defeat the bill in question, and should it pass anyway, she has promised to filibuster for the remainder of the state legislative session. She wants history to know the names of the people who support hate.
If it doesn't pass, then that's a win for trans rights in a deeply republican state.
If it does, then she will make sure that is the only thing passed during this session. We won't even have a state budget.
I guess we'll see what the state's priorities are.
