#Owls have long been associated with magic, most recently with the Harry Potter movies. They are also widespread in the ancient Druid civilization. Athens had their Athenian owl for example.

Owls were a spirit animal involved with the astrological powers which were one source of motion on earth (along with inner emotions). Below is an image of an owl inside the #Knowth Passage Tomb at #Newgrange, Ireland.

A clear reference to the function of owls is found in line 3 of the Gezer tablet (~840 BCE) which says:

(Line 3) Astrological-powers are similar to astrological-owls. Life-manifestations are lacking motion-revelations.

The Gezer tablet was written in Akkadian and not in Hebrew.
