I compared 3 pipelines to reconstruct Gaussian Splatting from a 360 drone. Links to reconstructions and my findings below 👇 You can check out the full in-depth article with my impressions of the Antigravity A1 in collaboration with Insta360 Enterprise here: https://lnkd.in/eXj8Vpsc But in short: - MipMap: Support of drone footage is work in progress but the reconstruction happens locally, and it is free for up to 450 images. I will keep an eye on it as it evolves - Scaniverse: details are quite good, file size contained at 866 Mb with 3.6 M splats but the sky "got stuck" in the mesh of the blades. Check the scene here: https://lnkd.in/eX-tTT-v - Splatica: offered a clean reconstruction but a much bigger file size and splat count at 1.7 GB and 7.8 M Splats. Check the scene here: https://lnkd.in/edBJVnKV The full article linked above also explains my flight experience with the drone and how I simplified the splat to view it in #VR, so make sure to check it out and subscribe to the newsletter as I have more tools and test planned soon. | 11 comments on LinkedIn
