In a study published in the International Journal of Paleopathology, Dr. Victoria Romano and her colleagues analyzed the bones of 189 hunter-gatherers who lived during the Late Holocene (~4000 to 250 BP) in Patagonia.

While not the most popular, I enjoyed the #BobHarras #Avengers run, flaws and all. He put together a team composed of what were then considered secondary characters, which gave most of them the most exposure they had in years. He also created what I thought were a great team of "villains" in #Proctor and the #Gatherers.

Analysis of data from dozens of foraging societies around the world shows that women hunt in at least 79% of these societies, opposing the widespread belief that men exclusively hunt and women exclusively gather. Abigail Anderson of Seattle Pacific University, US, and colleagues presented these findings in the open-access journal PLOS ONE on June 28, 2023.
So... if women hunted, AND took care of child care, what did the men do?
Researchers found that women hunted in nearly 80% of surveyed forager societies.
Child care posed little problem: Mothers carried infants or left them at camp with other community members; older children often tagged along, hunting as well.
