Drawpile development update for the past two weeks: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/06/21/dev-update

Several new animation features again, a new fan fill tool, some brush engine improvements, a setting for the default file name and a few smaller fixes.

There's also video exporting on Android using the system's built-in media encoder. This is simultaneously also making its way into #krita. If you want to help test that, check out https://krita-artists.org/t/testing-wanted-android-timelapse-export/185468

Drawpile development update for the two past weeks: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/06/07/dev-update

There's several new features: you can now select multiple frames on the timeline, configure what should happen when you draw with a right-click and select layers via keyboard shortcut.

On Android, barrel rotation should now work, there's a workaround for blotches on some tablets and if you run out of memory and Drawpile closes on you, it will inform you that it happened.

Development update for the last two weeks: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/05/10/dev-update

Mostly lots of bugfixes before hopefully a 2.3.1-beta.1 release this week.

But otherwise, the Drawpile git repositories have been mirrored to #Codeberg rather than being anchored to GitHub. Both places can be used to report issues and provide pull requests: https://codeberg.org/Drawpile/

Dev Update: Week 18 and 19 of 2026

The last two weeks have been mostly spent fixing bugs for the Drawpile 2.3.1-beta.1 release. I’ll try to get that released this week, but there’s still announcements to write up and such.

Drawpile

Development update: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/04/27/dev-update

Last week was mostly spent at #lgm2026, but there have been several bugfixes, performance improvements and a feature to make the stabilizer more comfortable to use.

Translations have also been opened for version 2.3.1-beta.1, if you want to help translate Drawpile into your language, you can do so with #weblate at https://hosted.weblate.org/engage/drawpile/

Dev Update: Week 16 and 17 of 2026

The last week was mostly spent at the Libre Graphics Meeting. The week before, some smaller things were added before translations were opened, you can help translate Drawpile on Weblate. I also did some thinking on how filters could work in Drawpile, since it is a topic that came up in multiple places recently.
