Growing up in Nowshera, we did not have broadband even in the late 2000s, good internet was a rarity. You would buy a 50 rupees card and live with 56k speeds. Any kind of content rich guide would never load. Never mind looking at a video.
As a child who had far worse English at the time, I would often hit a roadblock in a game and there were always GameFAQs guides to help.
I still prefer this clean, easy to parse format should I ever require a guide.

God, fuck PokΓ©mon FRGL. Was it always this hard? I haven't played the red original since maybe 2002, but I remember never having to grind in Silver.
I'm stuck in the Elite Four, and Lorelei is beating my ass. No Zapfos, and I feel so underleveled. Due to playing it with different Pokemons and without a guide, It's hell. And I just found out that Fairy Type does not exist yet.
Time to hit #gamefaqs again and download some txt guides.

Look, I'm an old #wiki nerd, former Wikipedia admin and all that, and the only reason I was ambivalent to Wikicities/Wikia/Fandom was because I assumed every reasonable person was running an ad blocker anyway. Yet lately I've been kind of raising eyebrows at them more and more and more. π€¨

I used the GB Operator to extract ROMs from a good number of GB/GBC/GBA carts, including Nintendo's 1990 Golf. I want to master Golf 1990, but one initial challenge is that estimated distances are not included with clubs (Mario Golf for GBC had... some QoL improvements).
