I think of pomegranates and citrus this time of year for all the homegrown pickings I would crack open with my uncle, and all the citrus I would juice with my aunt... and all the sangria we'd make to reward ourselves at the end of the day. I really treasure those memories.
In some parts of the world pomegranates play a role in religious and cultural iconography, and I love that one of my favorite fruits has such a rich and beautiful tradition.
For me it's not the holiday season without pomegranates. So even though I'm far from home and my family's trees, pomegranates will always be found in my home this time of year. <3

@skaeth After a slow start, the blackberry crop is coming along nicely, a lot of super plump and sweet berries. 😋 Our apples are coming along nicely too — which means pies!

…plus visits from the local bear for any left on the ground. The deer will eat them too, but they prefer the crabapples in our front yard.
