In all the discussion and discourse about #Frankenstien, I feel bad that nothing is said about the #PennyDreadful inclusion. Yes, Victor and the creature are part of a monster mash, and intersecting with other characters. BUT, it is still an interesting interpretation of Mary's work.

Esp with the interpretation of "the bride". With a history before death, and a direction after.

Final Trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein Released

I’m looking forward to the release of Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein on Netflix perhaps more than any other film to be released this fall. The movie hits theaters on October 7 and streams on Netflix beginning November 7th. The official trailer has now been released.

Mary Shelly’s tale of the monster who created a monster has been so twisted around in so many different incarnations it’s hard to separate the takes from the original fiction. That’s not a complaint, it’s just what it is. I can imagine this one will offer up a unique twist or two given Guillermo del Toro’s previous films.

I’m really looking forward to this and hope it lives up to its promise.

X-Men 40 - November 9, 1967

Frankenstein is not in this comic, nor is his monster. Xavier believes a mutant created him, but instead, he was created by an alien race from a tropical world. The monster confuses the X-Men for his makers due to their costumes.

This was a tough read, and I can see why this series struggled to find an audience. Facing a cancelation in the 70s.

Bought off eBay for $20.

Why am I ambivalent about most modern #horror #films, but I really enjoy the really old stuff? I think I just like the charm and vibe of the cheesy, classic #monsters. #Dracula, #Frankenstien, the #Wolfman, those are my guys. I really like #HammerHorror, too. I don't mind more modern takes on that, like #Halloween and #FridayThe13th, but I think #nightmareOnElmStreet pulled it off the best. #FreddyKrueger has that fun factor that #Chucky can't hope to match.
