After 3 reschedules of a move, the contents of my two bedroom condo finally got moved to a one bedroom barrier free unit. No occupancy permit has been issued, so at age 72, I am couch surfing 🙂, but hopefully next week I can officially move in and sleep in my own bed. And really hoping the elevator will be turned on!
Last fall I started having issues with walking and put it down to arthritis. Finally went to see my doctor in May when I could no longer manage the pain. Diagnosis is severe osteoporosis AND a fractured hip. The pain is now understandable, manageable and very unwelcome.
Replacement hip surgery is July 3, so the push is on to have the new unit set up so I can return home after surgery.
There is a special place in heaven and my heart for all of those who have stepped in to help me. Kindness and generosity are still available in people!
I also give thanks every day for universal health care!
