It's why I don't accept empty accounts. I get too many requests from fakes.

I vet everyone who follows me. If I don't like what I see when I look at your profile, I don't accept the request.

Things I don't like:

* No profile.

* Short history in the fediverse.

* No posts of your own.

* Looking like you're trying to extract something from me.

Specifically, when an account that is evidently linked to a business, I wonder what their deal is.

Are they following people as some sort of marketing tactic?

I don't like being used this way.

So I reject the request.

If they come again with another request, guess what? They get blocked.

Let me put it simply: abusing follow requests is not a costless proposition.

I've just blocked a company for this. I *might* have been interested in their products, but now I won't have the opportunity to show interests, because they are blocked.

I'll just buy my shit somewhere else.
