Bought a new router (GLi Net Flint 2) which broke my headless Pi SSH connection. Took me a while to realise the Pi doesn't support WPA3. Still working on it... Last night I had to work on the TV as the new router also broke the wifi remote control (IR receiver is broken) connection... Found out that using a keyboard with an Android TV is very unintuitive (it's a Sony Bravia).
Ah... networking. Every time I learn a little bit more!

Fiddled in the UI & Settings
Moved to the "beta" firmware from GL.iNet based on OpenwWrt 24.10.
Next step, plugged the fiber to IT, set DHCP to the right VLAN. It works \o
IPv6 doesn't work out of the box (seems Free don't push the 6rd parameters via DHCPv4 so no auto-config).
GL.iNet UI don't allow to set 6rd config, so went on manually. Worked but smells like NAT. Tried to change some settings on the GL.iNet UI => WAN reverted to default DHCPv6 :(
Purchased a new work horse, which arrived today. It was liberated and runs #openWRT, but calling 'docker pull' revealed the kernel lacks some filesystem features (f2fs).
My workaround is a USB drive (btrfs), which allowed me to deploy #pihole and the current challenge is to configure it in such a way, that the pihole instance is available in the LAN.
Building a ROM with the missing features to use the internal storage (8GB) is on the winter agenda, if not fixed until then.
Just ordered a #GL-iNet #AXT1800 travel router. It plays nice w/ #ProtonVPN & claims 550Mbps on #WireGuard. I’ll insert this as my main router to give my whole home #VPN coverage & use my 2 Verizon FiOS #G3100 routers as APs linked by #MoCA.
I’ll likely upgrade to the #Flint2 (#MT6000 gets 900Mbps on WireGuard 👀) when it’s released & use this travel router when I *ahem* travel for work, but it should tick the boxes I have in the meantime 🤞✅
