Farewell to our big piranhas! Mr Kitten, in his never ending quest to get to the fish tank, knocked the power cable out, turning off the filter and air.
I only discovered this after it was too late. Goodbye Silver Dollars, and goodbye Catfish! And goodbye little aquarium which has gone on to a new life where it will no doubt delight a new family! - We still have the big aquarium, which is a little more cat-proof - We only originally got a second aquarium, after we discovered that the silver dollars were related to piranhas - which explained why they were eating the neon tetras! Once we got them separated, they were great and I enjoyed them (even though we also discovered later that you are supposed to keep them in a larger group in a MUCH larger aquarium - we had two in an 87 litre / 23 gallon tank (you should ideally have a school of six or more in a 270 litre / 75 gallon tank)
