Yesterday two great things happened:
I managed to get some signal out of the matell mindflex after a buddy came over and helped me solder the Bluetooth module.
I went to a darkpsy party and joined the #firespace .

My arms hurt. I am totally out of shape. But I went outside. And wasn't a depressive couch burrito.
So... Progress?!?
