Jetzt, da #android zu macht und offenbar aufhört, "offen" & #floss zu sein, worin programmieren wir jetzt unsere #apps ?
Aktuell bin ich bei #openjava & #openjfx gelandet, das sieht nach einem Tag experimentieren ganz vielversprechend aus mit #netbeans als #ide.
Damit ist jedenfalls alles wieder #floss und die #apps sogar plattformunabhängig.
Als erstes Test-Projekt migriere ich mal das #feinstaubwidget , das ist halbwegs übersichtlich.
I just updated all my apps available at #fdroid: #TinyWeatherForecastGermany , #imagepipe and #feinstaubwidget ..
All now have a monochrome app icon layer to support app icon theming on devices with an api level of 33 or higher.
Furthermore, #TinyWeatherForecastGermany got some bugs fixed that were related to the layout of the compact weather widget.
Fingers crossed that #fdroid will build them all successfully.
Just for reasons... things I do on a rainy weekend...
Since I already updated the targetSdk to 33 for #TinyWeatherForecastGermany and the #FeinstaubWidget, I am currently updating #imagepipe to also target the #sdk 33.
Just wondering if I should go straight for sdk version 34, but not sure #fdroid already supports it.
Usually, I feel more safe to stay 1-2 versions behind the latest #sdk available.
I develop & maintain three #floss #apps available on #fdroid . Since I have no g***le account, they are not available at the play store.

#feinstaubwidget displays fine particulate matter values from the https://luftdaten.info project.
I just released version 0.75 that fixes a broken API resulting in no values getting displayed.
Reason: the api url changed.
The new version should be available at #fdroid in a couple of days.

Please note that the app #feinstaubwidget currently does not display data, as the api used to retrieve sensor data seems down both at #luftdaten.info and #hackair.eu .
I have contacted the #luftdaten.info project, but do not have an answer yet.
Hoping their apis get online back soon.

Fun fact: I publish my apps on #fdroid, do not use any tracking/automatic crash reporting and have NOT published my apps on the Google Playstore.
Result: I have completely no idea how many times my apps got downloaded and how many people use them.
Conclusion: privacy works. 🙂
