Should someone be interested, there is a #rc for the new #imagepipe version.

https://kaffeemitkoffein.de/nextcloud/index.php/s/Dees7SB22sXtoJa

A short story:
I am building the #android #sdk on my own and use my own #sdk build to develop #imagepipe .

See here:
https://codeberg.org/Starfish/SDK-Rebuilds

Doing it that way, I learned a lot.

#imagepipe also has zero #dependencies, so that the resulting #apk is only 643 KiB in size. It fits on a 3.5" #floppy #disk, should you remember them.

#imagepipe is also downward compatible to support devices running #android 4.0.1, whilst targeting #android 16, so you can use #imagepipe even on very old, outdated devices.

Unfortunately, my #samsung Galaxy young broke, so that I cannot test #imagepipe on a native device with a display as small as 320x240 pixels anymore. The last versions worked well on it.

I compiled the #android #sdk by myself.

Then, I integrated it into the #intellijidea #ide.

Next, I used it to lift #imagepipe to target api 36 (aka #android 16).

It works, and I am now testing the 2nd #rc.

@IzzyOnDroid

I just successfully compiled the #android #sdk from #source for #api 36 (aka #android 16) .

I successfully tested it building #imagepipe targeting api 36.

I will update the build recipe at #codeberg and will add a short how-to-install-and-use, since the sdk needs some small tweaks to run well.

TL;DR: also with #api 36 you can compile the #sdk on your own and do not need the binaries from Google.

@vera Einen Client, der das erledigt, kenne ich nicht, ich benutze in diesem Zusammenhang, aber gerne #ImagePipe.

Does anyone has a spare Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (version from 2020, SM-P610, not the successor) willing to sell it for a reasonable price?

I need a tablet with good, official #lineageos support.

Actually, any of the other officially supported Samsung tablets would be ok, too.

You would also support the #floss #dev of #imagepipe and #TinyWeatherForecastGermany (yes, that's me) and help me to better test both #apps on real #tablet devices.

@alsutton

I am developing two #floss #apps , available at #fdroid.

I am still concerned about G***le making #android more and more proprietary and closed. Not sure #floss things will have a future there.

But where to migrate my apps to? Generic #java, using #javafx ?

What is the future of our #floss #android apps ?

#imagepipe version 0.75 is out and it brings you the long desired feature to zoom in and out from an image while editing.

#imagepipe is an #app for #android devices that removes #exif #data and modifies images to reduce size before sharing.

Simply put, it enhances your privacy when sharing pictures.

#imagepipe is #floss and can be installed from the #fdroid main repo or the #izzyRepo .

The #apk is also directly available from the project homepage.

The new version should be available there soon. I hope you enjoy this small holiday gift for you all. 🎁

Developer sneak preview: with the next version of #imagepipe you will be able to zoom in and zoom out.

This way, you can edit the image more precisely.

An #imagepipe update is out! Version 0.74 fixes an app crash on older devices running on api 29 or lower when opening the settings.

It also fixes an issue where the ContentProvider sometimes refuses to create an unique file.

Furthermore, it adds three exif profiles that can be stored for later use.

#imagepipe is a tiny #android #tool that removes #exif data from images before sharing them.

The #apk has a size of only 571 KB, so that you could basically distribute it on a 3.5" SD disk, should you remember them. This is a feature you won't find that often with mobile apps nowadays.

It also comes with some nice filters and basic image manipulation tools.
