In #HamRadio news, I've been having a bunch of fun getting a proper packet node set up over the last few days. The #FARPN crowd is a good group to learn that stuff with - they've been documenting some helpful info, and have a matrix chat set up to be able to ask for help etc.

My node is running on 14.105LSB pretty much full time at the moment, but I may tweak things so it switches to 40 meters overnight.

Well I've got my packet radio @farpn node/BBS working again, thanks to some _serious help_ from @n6cta last night with debugging the ALSA configuration to support two radios - one for HF and one for VHF, each with a direwolf modem. Still running into an issue trying to add a mixer to allow multiple applications to listen to one device.

Now on to more packet shenanigans in the new year!

IRC client active now on my packet node - connects to the #FARPN channel on our little IRC net by default. Drop by and say hi.

@relistan I strongly recommend connecting up with the #FARPN crowd. It's a group of Fedi folx doing just that, and they've started putting together info and how-to's

They also have a matrix chat where they discuss it, and other topics.

Warning - there is lots of bird talk as well😀

@ve3qbz @n6cta

I am not sure what #FARPN is, but i'll start digging into it.

It seems like, to automate this, it would be cool to have nodes report their MHEARD lists to a repository (via RF #Packet) each day.

Thanks to @ve3qbz for walking me through BPQ AXUDP and forwarding today! #BPQ #packetRadio #FARPN

Been having fun dipping my toes into HF packet with some friendly help from @n6cta @kc2ihx @W1CDN @ve3qbz and the other #FARPN folx. They're a super helpful crowd of fedi-folx that have banded together for some packet fun!
