Dropped into a pretty good flow state last night and resolved an issue with `textual` that was preventing me from moving forward with my #Python #BBS software. They had changed the way the Linux "driver" for console input/output was organized, which had broken handling of the ESC key (which also meant arrow keys, etc. were busted).

I've tried to correct this a couple of times in the past, but just couldn't wrap my head around the updated driver code for one reason or another. Last night, it clicked into place. I am incredibly happy, as this project holds a special place in my heart and will (hopefully) be the platform that a couple of future projects will stand on the shoulders of.

A-Net's Spitfire BBS will only work on Telnet, not SSH or Rlogin.

Yesterday, for #FediBookFair, I posted to highlight some of my #books. Today, I won't try to "sell" you on anything, not even downloading a free book. I'll just share a little about myself as a #writer - specifically, one unusual fact:

I self-published my first e-book before there was a Kindle - and before Bezos started Amazon.

It's true. The first Kindle? 2007. Amazon? 1994. My first e-book release? Around 1991 (exact date unknown). Long live the dial-up #BBS community! :)
