#ExplainYourUsername I found the name eden from TheFatRat lore and liked it so I use it as a username now

i deCapitated the rotting parts of my full name but some people started making fake recipe sites with that (wine nor meat nor coffee interests me ... unless it's coffee crisp: ) so i might have to shorten it further

Former Advertising & Graphic Design grad ( https://yesu.neocities.org/port ) who gave it all up unwillingly (likely 'cause of my poortfoolio) to become disabled through manual labour and sleep loss

Currently research #foss software and tinker on https://yip.pe and https://penpot.app mostly for fun

Send me a private message (not sure if this is possible?) with your email if you'd like to be added to my #penpot portfolio group! )

Made a few ads and album covers more recently, mostly for myself and my faMily. As you can tell my quality level is very sub-par. Most won't even accept my volunteer efforts; )

In 2017, I looked out of my window on a full moon night and decided to call my fursona Luna.

Soon after that I made my twitter account (RIP pre-Elon Twitter) and named it after my fursona: Luna, the dragofelis. LunaDragofelis. I avoided using my "real" name for online things for privacy and safety, so using a fursona seemed like a good idea.

From then onwards, I started using that username for other services too.

When I "hatched" (discovered I'm transgender) I already had a name I used online and liked, so I just decided to stick with Luna. Using my fursona for my online name (especially considering my fursona already had the right gender) was a good idea indeed!

As the theory of dragofelines shifted through different names, eventually arriving at the name meltcats, Dragofelis shifted in meaning to become my surname. (Unfortunately Germany doesn't allow voluntary legal surname changes. I plan on making Dragofelis my middle name as part of my upcoming legal gender change, which includes a first and middle name change)

I did this in my bio post a long time ago, but I'm a nerd and this looks like a fun tag to follow around.

I ramble a lot among friends or when comfortable, hence Wrambles.

I'm a book nerd, love Dracula, and /really/ loved the Coppola film. My favourite scenes are those with Frost's Lucy Westenra in her burial whites stained with blood. They're so striking!

I also love Hackers, and Joey's computer was named Lucy.

Lucy Westenra became LucyWrambles. C'est moi. 🖤

A goal scored from long range in football. In my case the distance is 30 yards away from the goal line.

So, I'm not actually a ferret, I'm a pine marten. "Comrade Marten" just ended up sounding confusing.

Real talk: It's my 'sona for a few reasons, the big one being my dad trapped them for a living when he was a kid — but also because mustelids are insane, fearless, and smell awful, all of which I can sympathize with.

which in retrospect makes sense, as the Basque region of Spain has hedgehogs, but hystricomorph porcupines are exclusive to the Americas.

(There are also porcupines in Africa but they're an entirely unrelated species, surprisingly enough.)

#ExplainYourUsername: a thread

There's a few out there. The most straightforward one is my "professional" one, which is just my legal first name and last name. When I got my name legally changed I purposefully went with the same first initial so I wouldn't have to change or explain my professional-life email address.
