@neal People are smart. They understand language, punctuation, and characters which break up a word, like hyphens and underscores.
Those are not "blank space".
Blank space means a word-break.
Just because somebody wants to write "My Pictures" does not mean that they can't understand this will lead to a hellscape of pathnames, and they learned that in elementary school. I did.

Today, women cluster in low stake entry roles while men dominate the high stake decisions and senior leadership.

The structure stayed. Only the setting changed.

man hätte das technisch auch anders konzipieren können, ohne telefonnummern- hochlade-zwang. blick nach DK: mobilepay funktioniert dort sehr unkompliziert. oder noch anders: warum nicht geld in echtzeit per kontoüberweisung verschicken? das müssen jetzt eh alle banken anbieten. statt die IBAN mühsam einzutippen hätte ein QR code auf dem empfängerhandy gereicht, oder ein short-handle, der rest wäre mit bestehender infrastruktur gegangen. #endofRant

💾 People dream of multi-user support on iPad… I don’t think macOS has its shit together either. I constantly run into annoying issues with the shared home laptop. E.g. external drives mounting for the wrong user, networking issues (VPN or other weirdness). No problems with a single user. #endofrant

Jeg er ikke ekspert på området, men har hørt hele ‘fradrag på yoga’-miseren stammer fra et EU-direktiv som Staten Danmark så vil modarbejde (gennem fradraget). #endofrant

But it is our time that we devote to implementing whatever changes are being suggested. Even if it only means to discard these changes, this is costing time. Why there are so many "do" and "don't" about Italian food? Same reason why there are so many weird rules about how to dress, how to behave on a LoL server etc: soft power.
If you have a ton of pointless rules you can create a in-group and a out-group. And since people want to be in the in-group, you now have some degree of power over them.

This is neither new, nor limited to Italian food, but in any case you better remember that 99% of those rules make no sense.

Whenever you write something, you are (consciously or subconsciously) writing it for a target audience. The way you write to explain something to a pre-teen or to an adult is different, and both are different from how you would write if your target was a toddler etc etc
Scientific papers are no exception. There are of course well written and badly written scientific papers, but all of them have as their target audience other scientists, often only those in a specific subfield.
Expecting specialized scientific papers to be immediately understandable to everyone is completely missing the point of a scientific paper.
