Pro Asyl: Germany needs to overhaul Afghan admissions program

The refugee charity Pro Asyl has called on the German government to change its admission program for Afghans in need of protection. It criticized the fact that not a single person has been admitted to Germany through the program's channels since its inception last fall.

Where EU Member States are in a deadlock on internal reforms, they are united in outsourcing their responsibility for refugees to third countries. Funding is the main tool. More transparency and scrutiny of this funding is key to ensure fundamental rights. Thanks @ECRE

35 Organisationen warnen vor Abkehr vom Flüchtlingsschutz in Europa: Bundesregierung muss sich gegen Instrumentalisierungsverordnung stellen!

Am Donnerstag, 8. Dezember, stimmen die EU-Innenminister*innen im Rat der Europäischen Union (EU) über einen Gesetzesvorschlag ab, der schwerwiegende Folgen haben würde: Flüchtlingsschutz und Menschenrechte sollen durch die sogenannte Instrumentalisierungsverordnung an den Außengrenzen ausgehebelt werden. Im Vorfeld der Abstimmung verweisen 35 Organisationen auf den Koalitionsvertrag und fordern die Bundesregierung in einem gemeinsamen Statement eindringlich auf, gegen den Entwurf zu stimmen.
