The refugee charity Pro Asyl has called on the German government to change its admission program for Afghans in need of protection. It criticized the fact that not a single person has been admitted to Germany through the program's channels since its inception last fall.

Dezember, stimmen die EU-Innenminister*innen im Rat der Europäischen Union (EU) über einen Gesetzesvorschlag ab, der schwerwiegende Folgen haben würde: Flüchtlingsschutz und Menschenrechte sollen durch die sogenannte Instrumentalisierungsverordnung an den Außengrenzen ausgehebelt werden. Im Vorfeld der Abstimmung verweisen 35 Organisationen auf den Koalitionsvertrag und fordern die Bundesregierung in einem gemeinsamen Statement eindringlich auf, gegen den Entwurf zu stimmen.
