Gli Stati Uniti temono che gli attacchi israeliani alle infrastrutture civili dell’Iran possano trasformarsi in un boomerang, spingendo la popolazione a sostenere il regime e facendo salire i prezzi del petrolio. Lo riporta Axios citando alcune fonti, secondo le quali i raid effettuati sabato dalla Israeli Air Force contro 30 depositi di carburante del regime degli ayatollah sarebbero andati “ben oltre” le aspettative e hanno lasciato “sgomenti” gli Stati Uniti, colti di sorpresa dagli attacchi. “Gli impianti petroliferi sono obiettivi del regime. La comunicazione con l’esercito Usa è sempre eccellente e coordinata a ogni livello in tempo reale”, ha risposto il portavoce delle Israel Defense Forces Nadav Shoshani durante un briefing, commentando quanto pubblicato dal sito statunitense.
Qualcosa però tra Washington e Tel Aviv potrebbe essere accaduto, se fosse confermata la notizia pubblicata dal sito israeliano Hareetz secondo cui la visita a Gerusalemme di Steve Witkoff e Jared Kushner è stata rinviata. L’inviato speciale e il genero di Donald Trump erano attesti in Israele nella giornata di martedì per un incontro con il primo ministro Benjamin Netanyahu.
In tarda mattinata le Idf hanno fatto sapere che le truppe israeliane “hanno appena iniziato un’ondata d’attacchi su larga scala contro le infrastrutture del regime terroristico iraniano”, ha dichiarato l’esercito israeliano in una nota, precisando che gli attacchi hanno colpito infrastrutture a Teheran, Isfahan – sede tra le altre cose di un’importante struttura nucleare nella quale secondo l’Agenzia Internazionale per l’Energia Atomica si troverebbero diverse decine di chilogrammi di uranio arricchito al 90% – e nel sud del Paese.

This is reported by Axios citing several sources, according to which the raids carried out on Saturday by the Israeli Air Force against 30 of the regime’s fuel depots would have gone “far beyond” expectations and left the United States “stunned,” caught off guard by the attacks. “The oil facilities are targets of the regime. Communication with the U.S. military is always excellent and coordinated at every level in real time,” responded Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Nadav Shoshani during a briefing, commenting on what was published by the U.S. website.

Something, however, could have happened between Washington and Tel Aviv, if the news published by the Israeli website Hareetz, confirming the postponement of the visit to Jerusalem of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, were to be confirmed. The special envoy and Donald Trump’s son-in-law were witnesses in Israel on Tuesday for a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In late morning, the IDF announced that Israeli troops “had just begun a wave of large-scale attacks against the infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime,” the Israeli military said in a statement, specifying that the attacks targeted infrastructure in Tehran, Isfahan – home to among other things an important nuclear facility where, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency, dozens of kilograms of 90% enriched uranium would be found – and in the south of the country.
