Netflix has invested to increase its international content as well as #DiverseRepresentation, #Indigenous, #DirectedByWomen, #Youth, Family, #LGBTQ+ and more.
If you haven’t checked it out in a while, it’s worth it. You may need to push the algorithm towards your community and interests. So let’s use this thread to help each other become more aware of what what else is interesting and worthy of our support on the platform.
I’ve added a link to a précis of a Netflix-sponsored study that gives stats on improvements and remaining gaps in their representation. Would caution that many of these shows aren’t getting renewed as Netflix gets more focused on immediate viewing minutes. You’ll see #Bridgerton & #Lupin profiled there, but there’s a lot more that’s worth supporting. And unfortunately some great shows that were cancelled too soon. . .
