For all of us MS-/open/free-DOS fans (including the windows counterpart) of scandisk and/or norton disk doctor (essentially the same thing), why not reverse engineer the #tools for gnu/linux and put them into the public domain?
After all, they're essentially #abandonware.
The G/UI would be quite handy in terms of aiding novices coming from a windows (or DOS) environment into a linux system in terms of addressing disk problems without much difficulty. #scandisk #dos #norton #diskdoctor #repair
