@violetmadder

The global population median would be near US$10K in personal wealth. That's the upper bounds of the 55% who collectively represent 1% of global wealth.

Among the 11% in that bracket in the U.S., about two thirds have negative personal wealth: those who owe more than they own.

The 89% we bump elbows with only relate to us insofar as we are nuisance, #disaccommodation, lumpen, object lessons of who not to be.

Thus autohagiographic politics of affluence reigns. Choice as virtue.

@richpuchalsky

That's a feature, rather than a bug. That the thorn in agliþa suggests litho- (but also lith, a limb or member of a body, esp. a joint that bends) is usefully coincidental.

A system that is calcified. Also, "kick rocks" or "pound sand", a contemptuous directive toward futility. This is #disaccommodation #classposture. Patients as nuisance, a nuisance purposefully cultivated.

Courbet's Stone Breakers, and Gillot's Stone Breaker. To be subject to aglithaculture is to have a distinct class… posture, a distinct silhouette in the tableau of oppression.

The quarry is not about making rocks healthier; let alone do so for those who break them. It is about extracting value from raw material. From an abundant mundane resource in inexhaustible supply.

That's aglithaculture.

Per last RT:

#Disaccommodation #classposture is never a high-profile issue. That there's an expansion of the ranks of disaccommodation classposture is merely that, a redistribution of dispossession.

To be of disaccommodation classposture is to be object lesson of who not to be under social contract that is #FrosteanBargain.

It is the lesson to those of #perquisitive classposture that their autohagiography is valid, thus validating. The rewards ascribed to compliance.

It is the lesson to those of #conveyanceé classposture that dis-accommodation, non-accommodation, to be without accommodation, to be nuisance to those of #perquisitive classposture and a mere fable to those of oligarch classposture, is only a hairs-breadth away, the price of non-compliance.

One in five globally living with LongCovid is just more dispossession underwriting health supremacist privilege.

Is not a high-profile issue for the very reason that Stafford Beer told us:

The purpose of a system is what it does.

Using assassination trial as backdrop, the next administration is gonna push through aglithaculture legislation that worsens diagnosis and treatment for vulnerable groups—in the name of forcing insurance companies to pay for non-"big pharma" medical options.

Leftists will cheer the narrative of forcing insurers to pay and breaking the "big pharma" stranglehold.

Liberals will support even "radical" legislation out of fear of more vigilante action.

Conservatives will support it because GOP are home team.

Doctors will support it because they'll get to write a scrip to the gym rather than just dismiss symptoms out of fatphobia or ignorance about chronic illness.

And when Usians don't get healthier, but instead get sicker, the narrative will shift to blaming non-compliance:

Those freeloaders—who refuse to follow doctor's orders and get healthy—will be the reason why we can't have nice things.

Chronic illness, like homelessness, will be declared a lie.

#disaccommodation #classposture

#Disaccommodation #classposture articulates a distinct material relation—a lumpen habitus that may inhabit simultaneously the same body with #perquisitive, #conveyancée and #conquistadas classpostures.

To be without accommodation, to be unaccommodated, to be nuisance to those who glorify their own exploitation, is to be ontologically incommensurate with duo-dualism that is anti-capitalist lore.

The lumpen—too déclassé for class analysis—are denied agency by theory of categorical consciousness.

Hearing and vote on the mask ban were first and second items on agenda, so presumably it's the 9:30 a.m. link.

Edit: It was a seven hour hearing, so it's both the morning and afternoon sessions.

"The exact number of Dust Bowl refugees remains a matter of controversy, but by some estimates, as many as 400,000 migrants headed west to California during the 1930s, according to Christy Gavin and Garth Milam, writing in California State University, Bakersfield’s Dust Bowl Migration Archives."

How the Dust Bowl Made Americans Refugees in Their Own Country

As they traveled west from the drought-ravaged Midwest, American-born migrants were viewed as disease-ridden intruders who would sponge off the government.

HISTORY

Needless to say, there was no millions-strong general strike. In 1934, the San Francisco general strike mobilized 150,000; the Minneapolis general strike, including funeral procession for striker Henry Ness, perhaps as many.

But with 2½ million Dust Bowl migrants, evictee Hoovervilles in hundreds of cities, Hunger Marches and Unemployed Councils seizing food supplies & blocking evictions, the "crisis in the elite" was sustained visible expansion of ranks of #disaccommodation #classposture.

@nullagent

The origin of homelessness (#disaccommodation #classposture) as a national project begins with two prongs:

• the moral panic over traumatized Civil War veterans who failed to assimilate into marriage and family; AND

• the social upheaval of newly freed folk, without access to property, in a society that had only years prior depended on their labor.

The latter gave us vagrancy laws designed to force folk into sharecropping so to avoid being arrested for not having a place to live.
