In this second interview with Derrin Kent from The Development Manager for our podcast 'Create. Share. Engage.' he talked about using #portfolios in #DegreeApprenticeships in the UK. The words that are important to him in this context are: genuinely work-based learning, application of theory to practice, learner and employer ownership.

Excited to confirm that I'll be speaking at the #WHEFEvents session on #DegreeApprenticeships on Thurs 18 April 2024 it's an online event and aligns with 2 of my most significant professional interests; #WideningParticipation and #Apprenticeships

My controversial take on this (for my money) controversy baiting article about #Apprenticeships is that the #FE sector got a taste of blood with their, successful, campaign against the #SeniorLeader #apprenticeship standard and are coming back for more of what they can 'get back' from HE (having seen a big swathe of the market move to higher and #DegreeApprenticeships )
Our sector should be calling for more resource for all, not squabbling over the scraps we're tossed.

There's a nice little supporting video here, highlighting (amongst other things) that we're one of the #UK leading providers of #DegreeApprenticeships and the largest provider of initial Police #Education. I'm proud to be part of the team that built this.
