In about two hours (12:30 UTC) I'll be hosting a hackathon where we'll work on a checklist for generating research collaboration statements. Register for free and join us in the brainstorming: https://bigteamscienceconference.github.io/

My workday (and week!) is somewhat shortened by family commitments, but today I hope to submit my second peer review of a stage 1 #RegisteredReport, program a student project experiment, and prepare a #ReproducibiliTea meeting I'm hosting on Monday about #authorship, #contributorship and #collaboration. #AcademicChatter

Has anyone done this already? Or heard of it done?

This[1] has got me thinking: with the shift from #authorship to #contributorship[2], increasing #modularity[3] of academic outputs, and concepts such as #ContributorshipTables[4] helping us to be transparent about the extent/scope of contributions, when do we start adding peer reviewers as contributors on updated versions of #preprints that their input has contributed to?

@[email protected] I'd go further than @[email protected]'s reply (https://neuromatch.social/@AndrewReid/110743035569990627) and say that submitting unfinished work for peer review is borderline unethical under our current system: if the contributions of a peer reviewer takes a work from "unfinished" to "finished", then they're an author and should be treated/rewarded as such #PeerReview

Updated publications policy of University of Leeds includes:

"Authors must identify all contributors in all roles in all research outputs.
This aligns with research culture initiatives to make sure all contributions are valued and recognised."
