The #Saudis have little to offer but their #fossilFuel. They want to milk that cow as long as possible, esp since their backup plan with #tourism blew up with the #pandemic when for 2 years both revenue avenues dried up: fossil + tourism. There's some #existentialism at stake for the Saudis. #ConstructingConsent is 1 way to ensure, the #climateCrisis is ignored for a decade or 2 longer, damned the consequences. Owning the #media social & otherwise is key.
Somebody raised the point, that the article focuses heavily on politics, which is a valid critique, given #Musk's expressed interest in #AI and all the dark issues that goes with it, like having #discussions with bots and barely noticing the difference to real people, creating #echoChambers, #neurolinguisticProgramming, #constructingConsent and all that dark #propaganda, that is currently so effectively employed and throwing heavy obstacles into the gears of thus less free and fair #elections.
