📰 "Breaking News: Linux Kernel and #PostgreSQL are Still Dating and Arguing Over Who Left the Dishes Out" 🍽️ In a riveting exposé, we discover that open-source projects rely on each other—shockingly, like a toddler on a pacifier. The real revelation? These projects have commitment issues, causing delays like a snail on valium. 🐌💤

Micron Megafab Project Faces a New Hurdle as Activists Seek a Benefits Deal

https://fed.brid.gy/r/https://www.wired.com/story/micron-chip-fab-community-benefits-agreement/

"Happy 20,000th commit! 🥳 For non-coders, a commit is hitting 'save' and writing a note saying exactly what you changed. It's a permanent snapshot of your project's state.

The Analogy: If your project is a sandcastle, a commit is the picture you snap: 'I accept responsibility for this new tower—and yes, I accidentally broke the moat!' That picture is saved forever.

Now, about IRL Commitment: The ultimate goal is merging your life castle with someone else's. You can’t just throw away the messy parts or discover a flaw and hit the erase button. You communicate, fix the bugs together, and build stability.

Congrats to the engineers hitting 20k commits! It's a reminder that stability matters. Personally, I’m only interested in reviewing pull requests from candidates with a high commit frequency and a stable main branch. Let’s build something lasting. 😉

Walked Away

Author(s): Scott Douglas Jacobsen

Publication (Outlet/Website): The Good Men Project

Publication Date (yyyy/mm/dd): 2025/07/19

I have witnessed more than one male bewildered,

caught off guard,

as to the reason for the woman who walked away.

There are a number of reasons for this, fella.

Some introspective questions:

Was there a lack of commitment from you?

Diminished investment of emotions, effort, or time.

Was there infidelity or betrayal?

Emotional or sexual.

Was there a consistent conflict or a breakdown of communication?

Arguing, unresolved disputes, stonewalling.

Was there incongruity?

In goals, values, even presence of unrealistic expectations.

Were there external stressors or life-altering events?

Something beyond capacity for weathering of the glue.

Is there unacknowledged substance use to the point of misuse?

The substance is master, not you, of you.

Was there abuse or coercive control?

Safety and autonomy matter to cats and women alike.

Were you neglectful of sex?

The use of sex as a standalone, a stand-in, too.
