Its fucking not, and throwing timeouts left and right.

I just want computer vision/ML object detection, not some recompiling openssl-v1.1 all over the place.

I put a disclaimer of sorts on there that articles may not longer be accurate or follow best practices but, hey, I was young and often naïve. I plan to preserve format and will try to restore images and source as possible, but in the case of The #CodeProject it appears they're gone forever.
After seeing that The #CodeProject is shutting after the many early years I put on that site, I wanted to archive at least a few articles that were a step in my journey. I added a custom archive collection to my #Jekyll-based site and will add some more articles as I have time: https://heaths.dev/archive/

Technical posts about my decades-long experience with installation, current news and information about my current role in Azure, and tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way. Occasionally about my backpacking and mountaineering adventures with friends and family.

CodeProject.com is no more

CodeProject used to be a very old website that allowed you to write various articles about coding and programming in various languages, such as C#, C++, and more programming languages, to share knowledge and tips to other developers to foster community. Recently, they’ve made an announcement that said this:

To our many friends, site members and customers:The tech recession has hit our clients, and by extension CodeProject, very, very hard. After nearly two years of significant financial losses we have been forced to shut down the business behind CodeProject.com, CodeProject Solutions Inc.We tried incredibly hard to avoid this, and despite our best efforts, and injecting loads and loads of money to bridge the gap, it was simply unavoidable.Shortly the site will be switched into read-only mode. Our hope with this change is to allow another party to maintain the site as an archive of great code, articles and technical advice. We are working hard to make that happen and while in no way guaranteed, things look very promising so far. However for the foreseeable future, and possibly permanently, new postings will be disabled, for articles, for forums, for QuickAnswers and the other portions of the site.We have been extremely proud to be part of the software development landscape for the past 25 years and proud to have helped so many developers learn new technologies and skills, to have helped our customers introduce new products and services and have the opportunity in some small way to help shape the future of the development landscape. Thank you for being part of that journey with us.Some people have speculated about what is happening, about Chris and David "making out like bandits” by selling, etc. and we can tell you with great honesty that all of us involved in CodeProject took a massive financial hit over this, while doing everything in our power to find a solution.Chris, David and the CodeProject.com team.

The site has been switched to read-only mode after it went back online, so this means that you can’t add any more articles, questions, or any other content to the website. Alternatives exist, but, hopefully, this site will be up for archival purposes hosted by a third party.

Wow. This is a hit in the gut. I became a #MicrosoftMVP because of my work on that site and became an editor. I had several great discussions with Chris over those years and even met up with him at an MVP summit once.

RIP, #CodeProject. 😢
