Feel very fortunate to have lived in Cocoa Beach for 30+ years. I saw all but two Space Shuttle launches and many, many rocket launches. It was a way of life that never lost its appeal.
Fun fact: my very first job was at the Polaris Motel, which was attached to the semi-famous Mousetrap Restaurant.

Confirmed: Hurricane Milton spawned EF1 tornado that struck Cocoa Beach
After conducting a field survey, National Weather Service meteorologists have confirmed that Hurricane Milton spawned an EF1 tornado that struck Cocoa Beach businesses and homes Wednesday evening.
Packing winds of roughly 85 mph to 95 mph, the barrier-island twister ripped much of the roof off the Wells Fargo branch at North Atlantic Avenue ....
