I attended the #Seattle #LunarNewYear festival in the Chinatown-International District on Saturday. It was probably the most crowded I've seen in years. Great news for the #community — glad to see people are coming back.

It's an annual tradition for me to try and photograph the lion dances. Unfortunately I only got a few photos because of the swarm of people, but I appreciate what I got. 😉

厄除け(攝太歲)のお参り。静かなところより賑やかな都市部で行うのが良いのだそうで、紅磡觀音廟に行ったら案の定賑やか。ただ黃大仙廟や文武廟ほどの行列はないのでお線香の灰に塗れながらガッツリお参りしてきました。
皆CNY休暇かつお日柄の良い日を選ぶので、CNY休暇中のお廟は人人人の波。人混みに塗れるかつ火の気いっぱいなのでお寺側もものすごく合理的にスタッフを配置し、お線香にバーナーで点火してくれるスタッフから混み合う中祈祷した人からお線香を回収して代わりに立ててくれるスタッフ、そしてお線香立てがいっぱいになったら除去してくれるスタッフ、お線香の煙を代わりに頭やお札にかざしてくれるスタッフ…！細やかですw

結局一番自分が手慣れている黃大仙廟へ拜神。初五だというのにめちゃ善男善女で混み合うので攝太歲のお参りは新暦の立春にする。あまりにひとが多くてお祈りが届きそうにないんだもの、笑。
