I often feel too sciency for the #fireservice, to field ready for the lab. CBRN-E is in that exact sweet spot.
Good to meet some other #HAZMAT #nerds from around EU!
Someone who poses as part of the Murican "intelligentsia" had very narrow assumptions about a subject on which they are not very well versed, and that I was very involved with, to wit the safety of #CBRNE stuff. Military, but also civilian side.
They only know the domestic side transport. International escort of CBRNE sensitive stuff is often the realm of plains-clothes ( "tactical chic") Technical Escort Units and Nuclear Disablement Teams, both military entities, with expertise and authorization for lethal force.
So, when a NNSA team was rumored to be stranded, and couldn't be brought into the US (HINT HINT) they assumed it was domestic transport. Never occurred to their inflated self important mind that we provide a lot of R and N stuff to FVE allies. In fact, nobody ever had a start stockpile of nuclear stuff; WE provided everyone.
I would very (they like to use the word very) much to see how far an armored truck and their "large trucks" and "armed police escorts (visible)" would go into the sea. My bet is, about 50ft into the sand on a beach. See, large armored trucks tend to not float very well, even on salt water...

@KraftTea the same people trained to go in and scram/reset a npp from hostiles COULD, theoretically, bring it to a low power state.
I can't elaborate much, I used to train for that: it's ...unlikely, due to time, manpower restraints (team size of sufficient and sufficiently trained people) ...but suuure.... it's possible.
Ukraine DOES NOT have Tech Escort #CBRNE teams, tho.
Remarks.
#IDLH for Phosgene is ~02ppm.
See
https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/idlh/75445.html
The RECOMMENDED level of Phosgene is ZERO ppm
The naturally occurring levels of Phosgene are ZERO ppm.
