We replaced our second car with a cargo bike about 4 years ago. It was one of the best decisions we've made. Now we make almost all our travels by bike. In case cycling isn't viable, we can (and do) take transit. When we've got no other choice, we can fall back onto our car as our last resort. A lot of people I know live car-free, and that's one of my goals.

Last year, the only time I had to drive was when taking my daughter to her Japanese school twice a week. She would demand that I drive her instead of biking her. She now prefers cycling. Thank goodness!

This prioritization lacks evidence of how it will meet the memo’s stated purpose to “bolster the American economy and benefit the American people.”

Just returned my car! We are officially car light. I'm excited to see how this works out. Now a bike ride to celebrate. #carfree #carlight #BikeTooter
On the whole though I'm fortunate to have the infrastructure, however imperfect, to be able to run this morning's errand (including a school drop-off) with a 3-mile scooter loop through #RochesterNY and #BrightonNY between sidewalks and quiet streets. #ROC #CarLight
