NateWoke up early today to ride my bike to a #PortlandFire pick-a-seat event for people that put a deposit down on season tickets.
The #carbrained organizers assumed everyone would be arriving by car so there was no signage outside for people that showed up to the area by transit, on foot, wheels, etc…
The main doors were locked. Myself and a few wet comrades milled about until someone inside opened a door to let us in and point us towards the end of a massive line.

Sieva 🚴🚇🏙️🌹I spent a few days in Sooke, BC, thinking about how #carbrained it is (like the rest of Canadian towns, to be frank).
Here's a cycling heatmap. Green is a popular and good rail trail, that however doesn't go into town. To get into town, you have to stay on the highway (red), whatever your mode of transportation is. Yellow is a 60km/h road with no shoulder and an occasional sidewalk.
Why isn't there a safer and more pleasant connection for people walking and cycling?
Charlottesville builds a dangerous road, a motorist kills a pedestrian, Kevin paints a crosswalk after city does nothing, city doubles down on own stupidity and charges Kevin with vandalism
