Election Day happened, our progressive govt held power (this will make it 27 years in govt .. tho with a slightly less green coalition), some extra independent candidates got elected, people on the socials yelled about it, the Chief Minister kissed his husband, storming of capital not likely, all is well.

The coolest thing about compulsory voting is the requirement for the AEC to pull out all the stops and remove all possible barriers to voting.

So hats off to the ACT Electoral Commission for doing this. Staffed by lovely people too.

Another own goal for the Libs. Transphobic and racist content written by Bert Poppins on numerous social media sites is actually from Lib candidate Darren Roberts. Despite claiming not to know about the content, Lib leader Lee has commented on various posts by Bert.

The ACT parliamment is running an info session on Hare Clark voting for ACT elections. This Sat at the Legislative Assembly. Attendees will vote on holiday destinations and then the votes will be tallied the ACT way. It should be fun, there’s coffee, and will help understand our voting system. This is not an endorsement, but at this stage of play (between the rolls closing and nominations closing) it's fair to say Taimus Werner-Gibbings is absolutely dominating the corflute war in #Brindabella, from a design perspective at least. I don't know why nobody else makes theirs visible at night, effectively doubling the impact.
