Post updated today. Previously I speculated based on a detail from the meme photo that our spudly heroine was wearing a gunny sack dress or draped in burlap potato sacks. After hitting "post" late last night I noticed that the higher-resolution pic from the San Diego archives showed a confirming clear image of burlap-weave fabric between and under the potatoes:

We have a #Sentimental #Feeling for these box.
Once on a #Holiday w/ the children, we stopped at #Mount #Vernon & bought #Seedlings - #Cuttings of George #Washington's #Original box #Hedge. They were $0.25 each.
Now they are nearly 2 feet tall.
Every #Fall, Bob builds a little covered #Patio of #Burlap around each one.
