Post updated today. Previously I speculated based on a detail from the meme photo that our spudly heroine was wearing a gunny sack dress or draped in burlap potato sacks. After hitting "post" late last night I noticed that the higher-resolution pic from the San Diego archives showed a confirming clear image of burlap-weave fabric between and under the potatoes:

There's been a fake-looking meme photo circulating since at least 2013 (and probably much longer) of a woman, said to be Miss Idaho 1935, buried naked in a pile of potatoes. Someone asked me if it was real, and the answer may surprise you. Not naked, and not Miss Idaho, but yes she was the eye candy for a potato promotion event (in California) in 1935!
