Having seen how badly these '#AIs' do with simple wiring diagrams for Yorkshire plugs, I am deeply suspicious of Adafruit's promotion of an entire PCB designed by #GoogleGemini.

T' folk in 'Arrogate will have nowt to do with t' "Eh Aye"!
They power stuff with whippets and wrought iron, like proper folk.
Inspired by the last thread and @tautology , I actually went and asked #Bing how to wire #Yorkshire plugs, combining both ideas.
#MicrosoftCoPilot first suggested that I ask it about the differences between Yorkshire and U.K. plugs. So I did that. MS CoPilot in response confidently and authoritatively bullshitted me that 'Yorkshire plugs' are a name for older #BS546 electrical plugs.
Champion! (-:
Joking aside: It's the medical doctors who trust this stuff, which I've actually seen happen, that are scarier.
Sadly, in the more serious world, it's not the electricians but the medical doctors that one has to watch out for.
#USB continues to infiltrate our lives...
I might be at the point where I need to keep some things powered by USB, rather than constantly swapping a charging cable. So I thought I'd look for a multi-point charger, one that seems reliable, not a #fireHazard, that sort of thing. What comes up?
Lots of variations on this... 😞
#electrics #BS1363 #justStickARedWhiteAndBlueFlagOnItAndNooneWillNotice
That is just wild.
Even if rated for just 1A that is a lot of power compared to USB-C power delivery. I wonder why on Earth the vehicle manufacturer did that.
Interesting. Not much in the way of Arriva around here, and the ones that are don't go to places that I need to go to. But I shall keep an eye out.
I wonder what passengers they expect board buses with the expectation of plugging such kit in. Could it be for doubling up a passenger service vehicle as some sort of "party bus" with mains-powered lighting and sound kit, perhaps?
That's unusual. Plenty of the new electric buses with USB power sockets for passenger use around here. No #BS1363 that I have seen, though.
What bus company was it?
There are ways to mention the weather explicitly as a risk.
It did make me wonder what the applicable standards say about weatherproofing. It certainly seems to have been engineered into the design of the Type 2 end, both with the lip and the way that the plug angle makes runoff mostly run away from the socket.
The #BS1363 end is not rain-proof, of course.
