@cstross

Inspired by the last thread and @tautology , I actually went and asked #Bing how to wire #Yorkshire plugs, combining both ideas.

#MicrosoftCoPilot first suggested that I ask it about the differences between Yorkshire and U.K. plugs. So I did that. MS CoPilot in response confidently and authoritatively bullshitted me that 'Yorkshire plugs' are a name for older #BS546 electrical plugs.

Champion! (-:

Joking aside: It's the medical doctors who trust this stuff, which I've actually seen happen, that are scarier.

Haven't seen one of these for a while.

Two unusual points: This is test equipment for use by (presumably) professional technicians in electronic engineering. But even in the mid-1960s when I think it was made, the clamp should have been on the sheath. Also, these are the thinnest mains power wires I've ever seen, and the cable is long and clearly original. Nowhere near safe on a 15A circuit. This is why I don't trust qualifications. To be recycled.
