Watching these two was when I learned why gulls seem to be so friendly to herons. When herons catch a fish, they usually toss it in the air to make it fit better going in, and, sometimes, the fish is able to escape. It's when the drop happens that the gull moves in, trying to get the fish before it can either escape for real or before the heron gets a better grip. :)

Walking the dogs today was #Fabulous. The tide was low so the medieval fish trap ruins were visible, there was a #Rainbow landing on the beach and my phone camera wasn't good enough to catch the 2 white #Egrets a #Heron and a #BlackBackedGull who were feeding in the #rockpools
