(No snakey comments please. In the event another cyclist gets on I will remove all the baggage and stow mine properly. In the meantime the old truck is enjoying having the space to itself.)
@jon This #TER between #Hendaye and #Bordeaux has an extra dedicated #bike space with staff on hand to help. Between May and September they've closed off a few extra places and each TER can accept up to fifteen bikes. At each stop a man jumps out and puts a flag up.
Now if they could just do the same for babies...
I'm back on trains today, trying to get from Freudenstadt to Donaueschingen taking my bike with me, should be 2 hours with one change. Except the middle of the second train is a replacement bus now.
Current plan is to try going as far by train as possible, ride over the "gap" and take a train on the other side again. Worst case ride all the way or sleep in the woods.

I am now on the train from Frankfurt Main to Paris (with stops in Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Strasbourg). It's the last leg of my trip from Wrocław (Poland). The train is a TGV Duplex.
On the platform I saw people disassembling their bikes so I would assume that there are no bike places. WiFi works. 10/n
