Yesterday I wrote about how the 200mm lence gives me the option to limit my field of view in a positive way.
I saw this very beautiful Schindelhauer on the train to Preetz, a city some minutes outside Kiel. I usually find it very difficult to take pictures of bikes on trains. The light is difficult, background is usuallay difficult, possible angles are limited due to the narrow cabins. All together it is very difficult to take full bike portratis on trains. I keep trying but never realy come home with satisfying results. Even though I had tried focussing on detail shots before. Until now.
This time, I was forced to focus on details because there was no chance to find an angle that would enable me to get the full bike in the frame. At the same time the narrow angle reduces the amount of background information which helped a lot to focus on the detail I want to focus on and keep out distracting background info that is distracting.
PS: The person that I beleive was the owner was so nicely dressed that I would have loved to take portraits of him with his bike ... but a lack of time and little courage to go the way where stronger that day.
