Avoiding the news today, for obvious reasons. Heard enough this morning. Anyway, this is a baby portrait I did like a year ago (two years ago?), and it was the first time I ever did a baby portrait in any medium… and it’s also when I discovered why so many baby portraits are terrifying. They’re HARD to do when you’re used to painting adults and drawing houses. This was also the first time I painted a verdaccio underpainting and employed glazing for color to my satisfaction.
