More Beorn and Bear diorama.

I followed the "official" colour scheme for Beorn, from what I found on Mithril Miniatures.

The bear, I painted up with reference to black bears. Black to grey with a hint of brown.

More angles of the Beorn/Bear diorama.

When looking from Beorn's side, the bear form is visible behind him; it's always present and available to him.

When looking from the Bear side, Beorn's form disappears behind the sheer bulk; He looses himself in bear form.

Q: Could Radagast Have Taught Skin-changing To The Beornings?

ANSWER: The relationship between Radagast and Beorn has led many fans to ask how close they were. In October 2024 a reader submitted this question:

So while many fans are aware of Blue Wizards starting “magic cults” far in Rhûn in one of JRRT’s earlier visions, it occured to me today that we might have a much closer example of an […]

Beorn, the skin-changer. As seen in The Hobbit.

Diorama created with the #MithrilMiniatures Beorn figure, and the @FenrisGames Bjornhilda Bearacus figure.

To show both forms of Beorn I positioned the figures back to back, so Beorn transforms if you rotate the diorama.

27. BEÓRN

"If you must know more, his name is Beorn. He is very strong, and he is a skin-changer."

Some final shots of the Black bear miniature in this diorama.

The original miniature is wielding an axe, but it would have looked too large next to the Beorn miniature.
So I removed the head and sculpted a new end and made it look like a length of tree: the same tree that is now a stump on the base.

Some views of the black bear mini from the Beorn diorama.

This bear is so large it can totally eclipse the Beorn mini', much like his bear form would erase all Beorn-like qualities.
