Just been putting more clearer boards on and the bees are vicious. I got 20+ stings to each hand

Is it a bad late-summer for robbing I wonder? I've not seen many wasps of robbing bees, but they are more vicious than ever before #beekeeping #beekeepershour

Public service announcement - check your food stores on your bees.

I've just checked mine after seeing @BlackMountHoney's latest video and my bees had polished off a full pack of fondant in a little over a week. #beekeeping #beekeepershour.

Took the last lot of syrup up for the bees this evening. Always love seeing this ring of slurpy slurpy bees. They’ve had 8kg of sugar (as 2:1) per colony, but I think they still feel light. The ivy’s out so I’m hoping they stock up well for winter, but I reckon I’ll need to get some fondant on at some point 😟

Note to self: remember to actually do the beesuit up before fiddling with bees 😩

@garyhammond The lupins in our garden were out in flower again a week or two ago. Someone once told me honeybees swarm when the lupins are out (he meant in the Spring, I think) and I can’t help but think those bees heard the same Old Wives’ Tale!

Took a nettle sting to the forehead at the apiary today. Got a right ol’ goose egg growing there! 😩 But I’m rather pleased that I get stung more by them than by my bees... #bees #beekeeping #beekeepershour

Somebody is tuckered out after an hour in the garden (supervised, with harness). I don’t have the heart to wake her, she looks so sweet, but she’s on my beesuit which really needs washing (and I don’t want her claws in the veil!) #beekeepershour #Cats #catstodon

The best day’s beekeeping. 2 new queens spotted & marked, none of them died in the proces 😬 Nettles cleared around the hives, & no honey to harvest. Result all round 💪🏻
Yes, their 👑 are purple... Partly because I didn’t have the correct colour pen, but I anyway thought it was a yellow year (I confuse pollen with yellow pen 😩), so it would’ve been even more wrong if I thought it I was doing it right 🤪😂 Thanks @garyhammond for setting me right!
