Okay so last night I started #RiftRiff and you know what? It's wonderful.
Its a 'rogue-light' tower defense game from the guy who made *Hidden Folks*.
Now normally a tower defense game wouldn't ignite my fire if you know what I mean, no sir. However this is forgiving enough (it really respects my time) that failure doesn't feel like a chore in the slightest.
It's also super cute and each round takes like 2 minutes top.
Runs superbly well on the deck and its totally scratching the itch that games like #BadNorth and #IntoTheBreach left behind.

2. Bad North (estrategia, minimalista, roguelite) -70%
Bad North es de esos juegos de estrategia con fórmulas súper simples pero extremadamente divertidas que hacen que la siguiente partida sea igual de interesante que la anterior.
En este juego eres el comandante de un mini ejército de mini soldados que se enfrentan a mini vikingos en mini islas. ¿Que por qué todo mini? Pues porque mola y ya está. Tu tarea en este juego será dirigir a tus tropas a lo largo de un gran archipiélago para derrotar a tus enemigos, los vikingos, consiguiendo nuevos objetos y tropas a lo largo del camino.
Cada turno tendrás que combatir contra tus enemigos y vencerlos en mini batallas para poder pasar a la siguiente isla, por lo que el juego es especialmente interesante para aquellas personas que no puedan estar mucho tiempo seguido jugando.

Steam went down while I was writing this, which was a little disconcerting.
Bad North: Jotunn Edition is the "definitive edition" of Bad North, which I'd never played. It's a real-time cozy tactics strategy roguelite.
I threw "cozy" in there, because of all the games this reminds me, it's actually Townscaper that it comes closest to in terms of atmosphere.
It's somewhat minimalistic in design, but that gives it a unique character. You defend a series of islands against Viking invaders, so it's like the anti-Assassins Creed Valhalla.
I wish I had more to say about it, but I've come down with some kind of not-COVID (according to two tests so far), and couldn't stay awake last night to post the update.
I then went to bed and couldn't sleep, so it's a lose/lose.
I really must look up the difference between roguelike and roguelite, because all of these subcategories are doing my head in.
