I think I'm suffering from literary anhedonia, in that I am not enjoying anything I read. Old familiar books are fine, so I'm revisiting them, but I hope this passes soon.
The story does not make sense, the writing is clumsy, the characters are dull and dumb. It feels like a bad parody more than a crime novel.
