Rushdie said it can be difficult to write about peace while living in a time of “inexcusable violence,” including the conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza and Sudan. “A book cannot stop a bullet. A poem cannot intercept a bomb,” he said. But through literature, he said, writers can express solidarity with those who are suffering and others on the front lines of conflict zones, such as journalists.

One does not want to agree with Marjorie Taylor Greene, but she is right in this case that all the Epstein files should be released. I don't like her use of the term "insane," and I most emphatically disapprove of the President's calling people "stupid." WORDS DO THINGS.

I had a dream last night in which people who died had their consciousness uploaded to the cloud. The whole system got infected with a virus, and one technician clicked the wrong button--and everyone was deleted. Forever.

I read a strange, fascinating book last week: THE FALLING TOWER by Meg Moseman. It featured 4 genius college kids calling up Charles Williams and together defeating an evil AI corporation called Babel. It was almost a work of genius.
