Although he couldn't possibly fit himself inside, Jimmy invited everyone to come up and see his tiny disposable doghouse anyway.

Making a tiny checkered floor. I started by painting the piece of wood white then made a checkerboard mask using some yellow FROG painter's tape and painted over the unmasked squares with black paint. After the black paint dried I pulled off the masks and now I have a tiny checkerboard floor for another assemblage I'm getting close to finishing.

Just finished this one today.

Let's get cracking and see if we can get this whole thing ironed out.

I got this handy gluing jig a few year ago from a place that sells all kinds of stuff for model making. Now and then it comes in handy when I need to glue tiny pieces together. It has strong magnets to help hold pieces together. This image shows a laser cut hand with pointing finger being held together after gluing it to a base plate.

m-house encounters another solitary durable bedtime read while hovering over a field of disposable electric lawn mower manuals.

Since the legs and feet of this tiny bed are so small I want to make sure the bed will stay securely in place when glued to the floor base so I'm using straight pins to help reinforce it securely in place.

Here is how I build my assemblage boxes. I don't worry about cutting 45° angles to fit the 4 sides together because I don't have a reliable way to cut those kinds of angles accurately.
Before I start painting the box I tape off the bottom inside so I can have a clean surface to glue the bottom inside floor piece wood against wood.
I like my art to hang flush to the wall so I add four sides of stand off pieces of wood that I can also glue the back of the box to.
I usually use a clean piece of MDF for the back but this time I had a piece of botched laser engraved MDF I decided to use. The other side is smooth and clean.
I usually add some nails to add a little extra reinforcement to the sides that were glued together then counter sink them and fill the holes with wood putty then sand the surface smooth.
I usually paint the outside of the box frame but this time I'm thinking of glueing pieces of pages from an old book on the outsides. We shall see. 🙂

Why bother building a precarious house of cards when you can build one out of slices of Swiss cheese?

The chairs, Swiss Cheese house, iron, and torn bread slice were lasercut.
